Attributive clauses are often used in English and play a modifying role. What are the translation skills of attributive clauses shared by Beijing translation company?
Preposition method. When the structure and meaning of a restrictive attributive clause is relatively simple or short, we translate the attributive clause of the original English text into an attributive phrase with "de" and place it before the modified word to translate the compound sentence in the original English into a simple sentence in Chinese.
Make a sentence alone. When the structure of a restrictive attributive clause is more complex and its meaning is more complicated, if it is translated after its modified antecedent, it will appear that the attribute is too cumbersome and complex. At this time, we should translate the attributive clause separately and place it behind the word it modified as an attribute. At the same time, when the attributive clause is a non restrictive attributive clause, it often needs to form a single sentence.
Fusion method. The subject clause and the attributive clause are fused into a simple sentence, and the attributive clause is translated into a predicate. This method is generally used in restrictive attributive clauses, especially in the sentence pattern of "there be".
The method of translation. In English, some attributive clauses not only play an attributive modifying role, but also have adverbial relationship with the subject sentence logically (i.e., in the sense), indicating the relationship of cause, concession, turning and so on. Therefore, the majority of candidates in the translation, should try to find these logical relations in the meaning of English sentences, and then translate them into the corresponding logical relations in Chinese.
